A Note of Gratitude
In life, for us all, it’s extremely easy to focus on the negative. In fact, our brains are hardwired to do it–look it up! That is why Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays (not to mention the food). It’s our annual reminder to focus on what we are thankful for, which, very often, is what has been staring us in the face for most of the year: family, friends, coworkers, and in our case, our clients and our community. Here at DLG we actually like coming to work, because one of our top goals as a company is to create a positive, fun, and (mostly) professional vibe in the office that attracts some amazing people who then allow us to help them figure out how to plan for their family’s future.
Personally, it fills me with “all the feels”, as the kids say, to think about how lucky I am. I’m blessed with a healthy and happy family at home where love is abundant. I consider myself extremely lucky to have crossed paths years ago with Ashlynne and Nicole who joined me here at the office, where we laugh, help people, and get things done. And even outside the office, we are so lucky to have our extended DLG family of advisors, who help us give people top notch service and spread the word to others that may need it, but don’t know where to turn.
I hope you join me this week in re-wiring your brain to instead focus on all the wonderful things you have in your life. We’re all different, so your list is probably different. But consider making it, and consider telling those people that they’re on it. They may already know, but it never hurts to remind them. And then consider doing it more often.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
